Pakistani passport remains among the weakest in the world, ranking 100th out of 103 countries in the Henley Passport Index for July–December 2026, with Pakistani citizens able to travel visa-free or with visa-on-arrival access to only 30 countries.
Only Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan rank lower, with Afghanistan holding the last position globally. Countries ranked above Pakistan include Yemen, Somalia, Nepal, North Korea, Bangladesh, Palestine, Iran, Eritrea, Sri Lanka and Libya.
Singapore retained its position as the most powerful passport in the world, offering visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 192 countries. The United Arab Emirates, Japan and South Korea shared second place, each granting access to 188 countries.
Sweden ranked third with access to 187 countries. Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway and Spain shared fourth place with access to 186 countries, while Greece, Austria, Malta, Portugal and Switzerland took fifth place with access to 185 countries.
The index, compiled by Henley & Partners, ranks passports based on the number of countries their holders can enter without a prior visa. The United States fell to tenth place, despite historically ranking among the strongest passports.
The report noted that the UAE recorded the sharpest rise of any country over the past decade, climbing 40 places in the global rankings to become the second most powerful passport.
