Pta Receives Over 19000 Consumer Complaints Against Telecom Operators In January 2025

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) received over 19,000 consumer complaints against telecom operators in January 2025, with Jazz and Zong topping the list, according to official data.

Jazz leads the chart with 7201 complaints followed by Zong as the second-most with 4957 complaints telecommunications operators, revealed Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) data.

PTA received 19476 complaints from telecom consumers against different telecom operators and cellular operators in January 2025, out of which, 19049 (97.8 percent) were resolved.

Official data revealed that the complaints were received against various telecom operators, including cellular mobile operators (CMOs), Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), long-distance international (LDI) operators, wireless local loop (WLL) operators, and internet service providers (ISPs), during January.

Cellular mobile subscribers constitute a major part of the overall telecom subscriber base. Therefore, the maximum number of complaints belongs to this segment. The total number of complaints against CMOs by January stood at 18853, out of which, 18535 (98.3 percent) were addressed.

According to the PTA data, 7201 complaints were received against Jazz, out of which, 7172 (99.6 percent) were resolved. Further, 4103 complaints against Telenor were received, out of which, 4060 (99 percent) were resolved. Likewise, 4957 complaints were received against Zong, out of which, 4896 (98.8 percent) were addressed. A total of 2566 complaints were received against Ufone, out of which 2383 (92.2 percent) were resolved.

The PTA also received 139 complaints against basic telephony, out of which, 119 were addressed during January with a resolution rate of 85.6 percent. Furthermore, 462 complaints were received against ISPs, of which, 380 (82.3 percent) were addressed.
