Gamers can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick recently confirmed the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) VI release date. The highly anticipated game will launch on November 19. Recently, rumors suggested Rockstar Games would delay the title again. However, Zelnick firmly shut down these speculations during a recent interview.
No Third Delay for GTA VI
Speaking to David Senra on his YouTube channel, Zelnick stood by the current launch schedule. He confidently stated:
November 19, I do know. It’s been announced.
Previously, Rockstar pushed the game back twice. The studio initially planned a 2025 release window. Then, early in May 2025, they delayed it to May 26, 2026. Later, in November 2025, they announced a second delay, shifting the date to November 19.

Consequently, Zelnick noted the game sits about 18 months behind its original target. Despite the rocky timeline, the CEO seems confident about hitting this year’s deadline. He has not explicitly promised zero future delays, but his firm stance reassures eager fans.
The Weight of Expectations
The pressure surrounding this release is undeniably massive. In fact, Zelnick admitted the upcoming launch “terrifies him”. Both the broader gaming industry and internal teams hold astronomical expectations for the open-world crime simulator.
Zelnick firmly believes GTA is the “most valuable IP ever created”. Furthermore, he claims it is the most successful video game of all time, depending on how you measure the metrics. While franchises like Call of Duty and Mario Kart boast more individual entries, GTA’s financial impact remains unmatched. Additionally, he acknowledged that GTA V generated “a lot” of revenue, though he refused to disclose exact numbers.
Fans Await the Third Trailer
Rockstar originally announced GTA VI in a 2022 blog post. Afterward, they released the first trailer in late 2023. The second trailer followed in May 2025 to soothe fans after the first delay. Now, players desperately want more footage.
Currently, rumors circulate that Rockstar might drop a third trailer without any warning. The developer maintains notoriously strict security to protect what will likely be gaming’s biggest release. Still, fans speculate an imminent shadow-drop. Some players even livestream their empty wait, drawing hundreds of viewers who want to hang out. For now, players must wait a little longer to see if Zelnick’s November 19 release date holds true.
