Safety Measures for 20-Years-Old Vehicles

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has emphasized that 20-year-old vehicles should be prohibited from entering the Motorways to reduce road accidents.

He stressed that only roadworthy vehicles should be allowed on these roads. Additional measures include a separate certification for the tires of older vehicles.

During a meeting at the National Highways and Motorway Police Headquarters, Khan instructed the Inspector General of Motorway Police to formulate a comprehensive policy to enforce this directive.

He further called for all commercial vehicles to obtain fitness certificates within three months and for special training programs to be arranged for their drivers.

Khan’s focus on vehicles older than 20 years aims to ensure higher safety standards on the Motorways and prevent accidents caused by outdated vehicles.
