Gamescom Opening Night Live delivered several massive video game reveals this year. Among these announcements, a brand-new title quickly caught everyone’s attention. Developers unveiled ‘1001 Threads of Mizan’ through a two-minute trailer. Consequently, fans are already comparing this ambitious action-adventure game to a unique mix of ‘God of War’ and ‘Aladdin’.

Epic Co-Op Combat Meets Arabian Nights in 1001 Threads of Mizan
1001 Threads of Mizan offers a 1-3 player cooperative experience. The game takes heavy inspiration from the classic ‘One Thousand and One Nights’ poems. Therefore, players will explore a vibrant fantasy version of Arabia. Furthermore, they will aid the legendary storyteller Shahrazad. She desperately needs help to protect humanity from an invading army of jinn. Before entering the battlefield, players choose from three distinct heroes. Each character brings a completely unique set of abilities to the fight.
The developer promises large-scale, epic encounters. Specifically, players will face gigantic jinn enemies that tower above them. This scale heavily mirrors the colossal bosses found in God of War. To defeat these massive foes, players will utilize flying carpets. Consequently, they can soar, dive, and strike enemies in fluid, aerial combat. However, players should manage their expectations for now. The studio has not revealed any actual gameplay footage yet. The recent Gamescom trailer only featured cinematic visuals.
A Heavyweight Development Team
MBC Game Studio is developing and publishing the title. This studio is a brand-new venture funded directly by the MBC Group. The developer’s website states that MBC Group operates as the largest media company in the Middle East. Furthermore, 1001 Threads of Mizan serves as the studio’s debut market release. Despite this being their first game, the team consists of elite industry veterans. These developers previously worked at major studios like BioWare, Hi-Rez, Ubisoft Montréal, and Bungie.
Currently, the ambitious title lacks a confirmed release date. Nevertheless, players can expect the game to launch on PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch 2.
