UET students develop mathematical model for low-cost ventilator, ask help for completion of product

COVID-19 cases in Pakistan have raised above 850 and the virus is fastly spreading to more and more people. In these intense times, medical equipment in our hospitals has gone short. Therefore, many student and professional teams are working to develop low-cost medical instruments.
A similar initiative comes from UET where a team of students has started working on a low-cost ventilator to cope with the shortage of ventilators in hospitals. They have named it “Project Pak-Cov-Vent-20”. The team has already developed the mathematical model for the ventilator at Grrari Motors, the simulation results of which are shown below. However, they need help from capable individuals to prepare a useable product.
Zain ul Hassan, a mechanical engineer from UET and the lead engineer of Pak-Cov-Vent-20, issued a statement saying:
“𝑊𝑒 𝑛𝑒𝑒𝑑 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑝 𝑡𝑜 𝑏𝑢𝑖𝑙𝑑 𝑎𝑛 𝑢𝑟𝑔𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑙𝑜𝑤-𝑐𝑜𝑠𝑡 𝑣𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑜𝑟 𝑡𝑜 𝑐𝑜𝑝𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑎𝑐𝑢𝑡𝑒 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑟𝑡𝑎𝑔𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑉𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑠 𝑖𝑛 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝐻𝑜𝑠𝑝𝑖𝑡𝑎𝑙𝑠. 𝐼𝑡’𝑠 𝑎 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑏𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑒𝑎𝑚 𝑒𝑓𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑚𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑖𝑡 𝑞𝑢𝑖𝑐𝑘, 𝑢𝑟𝑔𝑒𝑛𝑡. 𝑊𝑒 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑑𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑙𝑜𝑝𝑒𝑑 𝑖𝑡𝑠 𝑚𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙 𝑀𝑜𝑑𝑒𝑙 𝑎𝑡 𝐺𝑅𝑅𝐴𝑅𝐼, 𝑤𝑒 𝑛𝑒𝑒𝑑 𝑏𝑖𝑜-𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑏𝑙𝑒 𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑎𝑙 𝑡𝑜 𝑚𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑖𝑡 𝑎 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦.”
The listed requirements are:
- Bio-compatible material
- Material Engineer
- CNC Machines
- Operator and Coder
- Ventilator Specialist Doctor
