COVID-19 cases in Pakistan have raised above 850 and the virus is fastly spreading to more and more people. In these intense times, medical equipment in our hospitals has gone short. Therefore, many student and professional teams are working to develop low-cost medical instruments.
A similar initiative comes from UET where a team of students has started working on a low-cost ventilator to cope with the shortage of ventilators in hospitals. They have named it “Project Pak-Cov-Vent-20”. The team has already developed the mathematical model for the ventilator at Grrari Motors, the simulation results of which are shown below. However, they need help from capable individuals to prepare a useable product.
Zain ul Hassan, a mechanical engineer from UET and the lead engineer of Pak-Cov-Vent-20, issued a statement saying:
