Apple’s first foldable iPhone, rumored to arrive as the iPhone Ultra, could debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series this September. While Apple has not confirmed the device yet, several leaks have already revealed key details about its design and hardware.
Now, newly leaked case renders from a case maker may have provided the clearest look yet at Apple’s upcoming foldable phone. The leaked renders show the iPhone Ultra from different angles in a black color option. Interestingly, the images suggest the foldable may not include built-in MagSafe support. As a result, users may need a compatible case to enable magnetic wireless charging.
The renders also reveal a slightly unusual button placement. The volume buttons appear on the top edge of the device, while the power button sits on the right side. In addition, a small cutout appears below the power button, which could be reserved for an antenna band.
On the back, Apple seems to use a familiar dual-camera setup. The camera module closely resembles the design seen on the iPhone Air lineup. Reports suggest the iPhone Ultra will measure 4.7mm when unfolded and 9.23mm when folded. The device is also expected to feature a 5.5-inch outer display and a larger 7.8-inch inner screen with a wider aspect ratio.
The foldable iPhone may include Apple’s upcoming A20 Pro chipset. The phone is also rumored to pack a 48MP primary rear camera and a battery with a capacity of around 5,500mAh.
Another notable addition could be Touch ID built into the power button. Apple reportedly plans to use the feature instead of under-display Face ID technology for its first foldable device.
Although Apple has remained silent about the foldable iPhone, leaks continue to paint a clearer picture ahead of its expected launch later this year.
