Fans have waited 13 long years for Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6. Naturally, recent delays made the gaming community incredibly nervous. Originally, Rockstar expected to launch the highly-anticipated game in 2025. Then, the studio delayed the GTA 6 release date to May 2026. Eventually, developers pushed the launch back once again to November 19, 2026.
Given this rocky history, players rightfully feared a third delay. However, Rockstar Games has stepped forward to shut down those rumors.
Rockstar Firmly Locks the GTA 6 Release Date
In a recent interview with Famitsu, Rockstar developer Rob Nelson addressed the ongoing release date concerns. When asked about another potential delay, Nelson confidently stated that the game “will definitely be released” on time. Therefore, unless a massive last-minute change occurs, fans can safely mark their calendars for November 19.
Furthermore, this strong reassurance arrives at a perfect time. Just recently, Rockstar aired the “GTA 6 Extended Look” presentation on Netflix. This presentation finally gave players their first proper look at actual gameplay. Consequently, the reveal received massive praise online. In fact, recent hardware sales data shows that the Netflix broadcast drove gamers to actively buy new PS5 and Xbox consoles just to prepare for the launch.
Fresh Vice City Screenshots Revealed
Right after the Extended Look aired, Rockstar released three fresh screenshots of the game. First, one image shows playable protagonists Jason and Lucia casually driving through Vice City. Next, a second picture reveals a darker tone. In it, an angry Jason and Lucia hold guns at their sides while staring someone down. Finally, the third screenshot highlights Vice City and its surrounding waters. This specific image brilliantly showcases the game’s impressive graphics and environmental detail.
Together, the Netflix presentation and these new screenshots have built significant hype. Rockstar is clearly finalizing its plans for the big launch.
More Netflix Presentations Leaked
Interestingly, the hype might not stop here. Recent leaks suggest that Rockstar might air two additional GTA 6 presentations on Netflix. However, the studio has not officially confirmed these rumors yet.
We are now just a little over two months away from the final release date. Because time is running out, Rockstar must show off the game soon if these leaks hold true. Hopefully, fans will receive more official news shortly as they count down the final days to November 19.
