Pearl Abyss released Crimson Desert Update 1.07.00 yesterday, May 15. The developers continue their player-first strategy. They rely on direct feedback and gameplay observation instead of rigid roadmaps. Consequently, this rapid-fire patch introduces highly requested features, character buffs, and massive quality-of-life improvements.
Expanded Boss Rematches
The May 15 update massively expands the recently added Rematch feature. Now, players can challenge even more previously defeated bosses. Furthermore, Pearl Abyss adjusted former Abyss bosses to fight on land. You can easily find these rematch locations in your Journal under Bosses Memory Fragments. If you want a tougher fight, you can use the “Resonate” option to scale bosses up to your current level. Additionally, the game refunds any consumables you use during these fights. Newly added rematch bosses include:
- Muskan (Bonepit)
- Corrupted Caliburn (Fort Musket)
- Goyen (Spire of the Sun)
- Draven, the Crowcaller (Church of West Demeniss)
- Clockwork White Horn (Gate to Advancement)
Upgraded Combat & Mounts
Previously, players noted that Oongka and Damiane lacked combat depth compared to Kliff. Pearl Abyss heard this feedback loud and clear. Therefore, Patch 1.07.00 grants Damiane new unarmed combat skills. You can access these by selecting “Fists” in the skill menu. Both Damiane and Oongka also received a powerful new “Aerial Stab” move. Meanwhile, Oongka gains a charge phase for Explosive Strike, and Kliff receives the “Blinding Flash Finisher” for unarmed combat. Generally, unarmed attacks will now successfully hit grounded enemies.
In addition to character buffs, the developers improved the game’s mounts. You can now register new wolf and bear types as mounts. The update also adds reins for certain creatures and increases the overall number of rideable animals in the world.
Bug Fixes & Future Crimson Desert DLC
Beyond combat, the update delivers crucial stability fixes. Pearl Abyss resolved an AMD GPU crash linked to driver version 26.5.1. They also fixed quest progression bugs for “Ugmon’s Request”, “Protectors of the Abyss”, “Faces on the Bounty Notice”, and “Plentiful Greeting”. Moreover, the developers tweaked specific boss encounters, fixing Awakened Ludvig’s excessive gliding and Blackstar’s health recovery bugs.
Looking ahead, fans have more content to anticipate. Pearl Abyss confirmed they are actively developing DLC for Crimson Desert. They will share specific details once they set concrete plans.
