Warner Bros. and TT Games face a massive headache today. A sudden pre-order glitch has leaked LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight early. Originally announced in August 2025, developers recently confirmed the game went gold. Furthermore, they moved the official release date up a week to May 22, 2026. However, some lucky gamers are already playing the full title right now.
How the Xbox LEGO Batman Pre-Order Glitch Happened
Two days ago, on May 10, a Reddit user named Dramatic-Track-9935 shared a surprising discovery. They pre-ordered the standard digital edition of the game. Instantly, they received a working digital code. Consequently, they downloaded and played the complete game on their Xbox.
Naturally, other players rushed to replicate this exploit. So far, the glitch has successfully granted early access to multiple users. Currently, it remains unclear if this bug affects other platforms or alternative pre-order channels.
TT Games Fights Back With a Patch
TT Games quickly noticed the exploit. Therefore, the studio issued a rapid response. The developers deployed a mandatory update for the game. Ultimately, this patch attempts to cut off early access. As a result, users who have already downloaded the leaked files must disconnect their consoles from the internet. They can only play the game offline until launch day to avoid the block.
If you missed this glitch, you still have a legitimate way to play early. Players who purchase the Deluxe Edition will unlock an official 72-hour early access period. Therefore, you will not need to force your console offline to enjoy the game.
Meanwhile, LEGO Batman is not the only major title to suffer an early leak recently. Just this past weekend, a massive Steam error also exposed a playable build of Forza Horizon 6 to dataminers. Clearly, game publishers are having a rough week securing their highly anticipated releases.
