Facebook more tightly integrates Instagram in its platform.

The recent development on this front has been the ability to share Instagram stories directly on Facebook. Just recently, Facebook rolled out a user interface update on its social platform which makes it look more like Instagram. The update included new icons, round pictures, and mobile centric user interface changes.

Now, users will be able to share Instagram stories directly on Facebook while experiencing somewhat similar looking interface on both of the platform. Facebook has previously mentioned multiple times that Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook platforms will be integrated with each other. In fact, notifications of each platforms will be shared to keep the users hooked.

With this new feature, Instagram users have the option to share their story on Facebook. The stories on Facebook are shown as the regular Facebook stories. It’s just a cross platform posting of Instagram stories. Right now, this feature is rolled out for a small number of users and we may have to wait for weeks to get the feature.

“We are always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and make it easier to share any moment with the people who matter to you, We have no other plans to share at this time.” An Instagram spokesperson told Business Insider.

As we know that Facebook stories are not as popular as Instagram Stories. So this is a smart move by Facebook to engage the audience on its main Facebook app as well. This is not the first time the Facebook is trying to engage more users on Facebook stories. It also announced a few weeks ago that the Stories will be coming to desktop.

Now we’ll have to wait and see if the company succeeds in engaging more users.
