Oppo is reportedly working on a new wide-format foldable smartphone that could arrive in Q1 2027. The device is said to target the growing premium foldable market and may compete with Apple’s rumored foldable iPhone.
According to the source on Weibo, the project is already in advanced development. It is also being tested with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. However, final hardware decisions may still change before launch.
The leak suggests the foldable will feature a 7.6-inch inner display. It may also include a 5.5-inch cover screen for quick use. These screen sizes aim to balance productivity and portability in daily use.
Oppo is reportedly testing display panels from both Samsung Display and BOE. This shows the company is still evaluating suppliers for final production. Meanwhile, the overall design is said to resemble Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone.
In addition, the device may include Oppo’s latest crease-minimizing hinge technology. This hinge system is expected to reduce visible screen folds during use. It could be similar to the one used in the Find N6 series.
The source also claims the same hinge technology will power this new model. However, the final branding is still not confirmed at this stage. Some reports suggest it may launch as the Oppo Find N7.
As competition in the foldable market grows, companies are pushing new designs and stronger hardware. Oppo’s upcoming device could become a key player if these details prove accurate.
