Microsoft has refreshed four Surface devices, including the Surface Pro 13, Surface Laptop 13-inch, Surface Laptop 13.8-inch, and Surface Laptop 15-inch. All updated models now run on Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 3 processors. However, reports suggest that Snapdragon X2-powered versions could arrive later this year.
The biggest changes come to the Surface Laptop 13.8-inch and 15-inch models. Microsoft has introduced new display options for both devices. Some variants now feature a built-in privacy screen mode, similar to the technology seen on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
The 15-inch Surface Laptop also gets a higher-resolution display. Despite the upgrade, Microsoft continues to use LCD panels for now. OLED versions are expected to launch in the coming months.
Microsoft has also improved the trackpad experience on the 13.8-inch and 15-inch Surface Laptop models. The updated touchpad now supports Windows 11 haptic feedback features. As a result, users can feel subtle vibrations while interacting with certain interface elements. These include actions like snapping app windows or aligning objects on the screen.
Meanwhile, the mid-range Surface Laptop 13-inch also receives Intel’s new chips. Microsoft now offers this model with an anti-reflective display as well. The upgraded version starts at $1,499. In addition, the company plans to launch a cheaper variant later. That model will include 8GB RAM and will not support Copilot+ features. Microsoft will price it at $1,299.
The Surface Pro 13-inch receives a smaller update compared to the Surface Laptop lineup. It mainly gains the new Intel Core Ultra processors. However, it misses out on the upgraded haptic touchpad available on the larger Surface Laptop models.
Microsoft says the flagship Surface Pro and Surface Laptop models will start at $1,949. These configurations include Intel Core Ultra 5 processors and 16GB RAM. According to the company, rising component costs are behind the higher pricing.
For now, these newly announced models target business customers. Commercial versions are expected to arrive later this summer alongside the OLED variants.
