Microsoft unveils Surface Laptop with price tag of $999

Yesterday, we told our readers about the rumored Surface Laptop which has been revealed by Microsoft today at their Education event.

The company is hopeful that this new Surface Laptop will replace the Chromebooks. Unlike other Surface models, it does not run the traditional version of Windows.

The price of the laptop is $999 with new Windows 10 S installed in it. This new version of OS (Operating System) by Microsoft was also launched at the same event. Much like other operating systems, this new OS will render higher performance even on lower-end hardware.

This Surface model clearly hopes to recapture the ground it has lost to Chromebooks over the past few years. On the contrary, Surface Laptop costs more than any traditional Chromebook available in the market. It will be certainly amusing to see how Microsoft captures its market share.

The Surface Laptop has 3:2, 1080p 13.5 -inch touchscreen and will be available in the market in four different colors. Moreover, there will be a USB port, SD card slot, and mini Display Port. The new laptop weighs 2.76 pounds embedded with 4GB of RAM. It also has 128 GB of SSD storage.
