New iPhone XI and iPhone XI molds show iPhone’s upcoming triple camera design

Some new leaks by the influential insider on various Apple leaks, Slashleaks just posted new images which indicate the upcoming potential design of the iPhone 11.

The images were taken from the popular Chinese website ‘Weibo’ (and were later re-posted on ‘Slashleaks’) which is known for leaking credible information from smartphone manufacturers. The image shown below is allegedly Apple’s upcoming design for the triple rear-camera set-up which will be featured in iPhone XI and iPhone XI Max. These images depict a third-party case maker’s case molds for the 2019 iPhones.

As seen from the pictures of the mold, the design choice for the new iPhones is pretty questionable and seems to be inspired by the tough competition given by the various smartphone manufacturers including Samsung and Huawei that have already incorporated triple rear-camera set-up in their flagships. Apple being the smartphone camera leader seems to be the story of the bygone era. In a bid to reclaim that throne, Apple will be looking to take full advantage of all of the three lenses that they plan on using in this year’s flagship iPhones.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, industry’s most reputable Apple analyst the third lens that will be added to the iPhone will be a 12MP super-wide lens along with the current main camera lens and a telephoto lens. The set-up is pretty similar to the already released S10 Plus devices. However, with the addition of a super-wide lens, iPhone photography will only get better and will add much more options compared to the previous generation iPhones.

Another disappointing news for the Apple fans from the image of the released iPhone XI molds was the same size of the archaic infamous notch. With the introduction of Face ID 2.0, (currently the most secured facial recognition method in a smartphone) the size of the notch seems to be the of the same size which is contrary of previous leaks that suggested that Apple with this year’s iPhone will decrease the size of the notch. Considering Android manufacturers have already gone past the notch era and have started using the punch-hole display technology, Apple should incorporate some sort of new design innovations in the 2019 iPhones.

However, it should be noted that these images have some glaring discrepancies like the weird position of the Apple logo or the abnormal size of the camera lens which suggests that the image might not actually be authentic. Considering a lot of leaks (some authentic and some un-authentic) will circulate the internet in the coming months, these leaks should be taken with a grain of salt.
