For months, speculation around the Apple iPhone 18 Pro and Apple iPhone 18 Pro Max has followed a familiar pattern. Will Apple shrink the Dynamic Island cutout or keep it the same? Leaks have offered mixed signals, keeping the debate alive across the tech community.
Now, a source on X claims to have seen fresh CAD files of the upcoming devices. If these files are real, they likely come from a case maker. Such manufacturers often receive early design data from Apple. The shared visuals suggest a noticeable change. The punch-hole cutout at the top looks smaller than the one used since the Apple iPhone 14 Pro.
At first glance, the cutout appears narrower. However, it may look slightly taller than before. This could be a visual trick, but the reduced width stands out clearly. If accurate, this change hints at something bigger. Apple may have moved some Touch ID components under the display. As a result, fewer elements need space in the cutout.
Meanwhile, reports suggest Apple will not change the rear design much. Both models could look similar to their predecessors from the back. Because of this, the smaller Dynamic Island may become the most visible design update this year.
