The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) closed slightly higher on Wednesday after a volatile trading session, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining 120.30 points, or 0.07%, to close at 168,580.40.
The index remained under pressure during the first half of trading before buying activity pushed it to an intraday high of 169,271.98 points. However, late-session profit-taking trimmed most of the gains.
The modest rise extended the market’s recovery after the KSE-100 surged 2,592.79 points, or 1.56%, on Tuesday to close at 168,460.11.
Market sentiment remained mixed as global investors monitored renewed Middle East tensions and higher oil prices. Brent crude was trading above $100 per barrel, while WTI stood near $90, keeping concerns over inflation and energy costs in focus.
