Punjab Youth Affairs and Sports Department has accelerated preparations to launch the Punjab Rising Star Portal, a modern digital databank designed to register and showcase athletes.
Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab, Fazal ur Rehman, chaired a dedicated meeting at Punjab Stadium on Friday to review the portal’s features and its planned implementation timeline.
A team from the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) briefed participants on the portal’s multiple features, outlining the technical framework and the phased plan for its provincial rollout.
The portal will allow athletes from across Punjab to register online, display their sporting achievements, and access information about sports facilities available in all cities.
Officials said the platform will support the identification of emerging talent and generate valuable data on participation trends across various sports disciplines for policymakers and administrators.
Secretary Fazal described the portal as a significant tool for sports development, helping bring new talent forward and enabling policymakers to identify which sports attract the greatest interest among youth.
Additional Secretary Sports Shabbir Hussain Cheema and Director Admin Abid Shaukat attended in person, while Director Youth Affairs M. Fahad and PITB members joined via video link.
