Reddit has made its split testing option available to all marketers. The rollout follows a test with selected ad partners over recent months. The feature is now generally available in Reddit Ads Manager.
Split testing lets marketers run two ad variants at the same time. The goal is to determine the best performer between them. Whichever ad performs best becomes the focus of an expanded campaign. That helps advertisers spend budget on what actually works.
Reddit designed the system for clean, reliable results. It splits the available audience at the user level. Marketers run two flights with just one variable changed. The system then declares a clear winner at 65% confidence. Reddit says there is no overlap, contamination, or guesswork. The tests run over a set time window. Each split test can run for between two and six weeks. That span provides a solid response sample to reach the winning threshold. It balances speed with statistical reliability.
Ease of use sits at the center of the tool. It works as a self-serve option within Reddit Ads Manager. Advertisers do not need a Reddit ads contact to activate it. That opens the feature to smaller advertisers too. Reddit also included help for structuring tests. The tool offers a library of pre-built templates. Marketers pick what they want to test, and the system handles the rest. Reddit says no expertise is required to run a well-structured experiment.
The early results look promising, according to Reddit. In testing, four out of five split tests identified a winning variant on return on ad spend. That gives advertisers another way to refine their approach. It also helps them connect more effectively with the Reddit audience.
The launch adds to Reddit’s expanding advertiser toolkit. It follows recent additions like Reminder Ads and other updated ad options.
