Grand Theft Auto Vi Trailer Breaks Records With 475 Million Views In 24 Hours

Rockstar Games has officially announced that the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) has shattered records. It amassed an astounding 475 million views across various platforms in just one day.

This achievement underscores the immense anticipation surrounding the game, despite the delay of its release until May 26, 2026.

The first trailer, released in 2023, garnered 93 million views. The second trailer surpassed it by over 400 million views. Deadpool & Wolverine’s trailer previously held the record with 365 million views in 24 hours. GTA VI’s release now holds the title for the largest video launch ever.

The Power of Music in GTA VI

A significant part of the trailer’s success is the inclusion of the iconic track “Hot Together” by The Pointer Sisters, which was written by Sharon Robinson. Since the trailer’s release, Spotify reported a 182,000% increase in streams of the song. Music has long been an integral part of the Grand Theft Auto experience. It enhances the in-game atmosphere through radio stations, missions, as well as cutscenes.

Sulinna Ong, Spotify’s global head of editorial, expressed her excitement, saying,

“Grand Theft Auto cuts through popular culture like almost nothing else. Music has been synonymous with the series since the very beginning, so it’s great to see fans both new and established connecting with an iconic track in this way.”

GTA VI’s Release Date and Massive Budget

Grand Theft Auto VI has been under development for years, with Rockstar Games having confirmed its progress in 2022.

GTA VI’s development is estimated to have cost $1 billion. It is set to be a landmark release in the gaming industry. Although its release was postponed from 2025 to 2026, demand for the game is growing. Moreover, fans are eagerly awaiting its arrival.

GTA V, the previous installment, grossed nearly $10 billion over its decade-long run, thanks to frequent updates and fresh content, proving the longevity of the franchise.

Set in the vibrant Vice City, a fictional version of Miami, GTA VI is shaping up to be the most anticipated game in the series. Moreover, the success of the trailer shows just how excited fans are for its release.
