Pac Raises Alarm Over Passport Theft In Pakistan

The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGIP) has issued a public alert after discovering a fake Google Maps listing for the Regional Passport Office in Islamabad’s G-10 sector.

According to the DGIP, a scammer had added personal contact details to the Google Maps location of the Islamabad passport office and was demanding payments through JazzCash and bank accounts without authorization.

The authority clarified that no individual is allowed to collect passport-related fees through personal channels and urged citizens to remain cautious while sharing information or making payments.

“Beware: Do not share your personal information or make any payments to such individuals,” the DGIP advisory read.

The advisory asked the public to avoid engaging with unauthorized individuals and to rely only on official communication channels. Citizens seeking assistance have been directed to the DGIP helpline at 051-111-344-777.

The department thanked the public for its cooperation and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting citizens from fraudulent activity. For verified information, the DGIP encouraged visiting its official website or following @dgipofficial on social media.
