The Fall of Project Ekur & the Next Campaign
The most significant casualty is an unannounced multiplayer-only game internally named Project Ekur. During development, this title suffered a massive identity crisis. It initially started as a large-scale Warzone-like experience. Later, it shifted into a battle royale format before the studio abruptly canceled it.
Furthermore, Halo Studios originally planned to reveal or soft-launch Project Ekur at Halo Fest 2026 this December. That announcement is now off the table. Alongside Project Ekur, the studio also canceled the next original Halo campaign.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is the Last Hope
Currently, the studio is relying entirely on a single project. Halo Studios is preparing to release Halo: Campaign Evolved.
