Warner Bros. has officially revealed an exciting new video game for DC fans. During the opening day of the 2026 San Diego Comic Con, the company announced “Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles”. This new Batman title is a co-op detective party game designed for one to four players. Furthermore, it will launch exclusively on Amazon Luna on July 31.
Interestingly, this release directly ties into the upcoming second season of Prime Video’s animated series. The game will become playable around midnight local time. Exactly at that moment, all 10 new episodes of the Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 will premiere on the streaming service.
Dive Into Gotham’s Underworld
Instead of simply adapting the TV show’s episodes, Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles will deliver an independent story. The game features 11 unique playable episodes. Consequently, players will experience an expanded look at this noir-inspired Gotham City. You will join Batman’s inner circle and team up with a Gotham City Police Department task force led by Detective Renee Montoya.
Gameplay heavily focuses on co-op investigations. Players will tackle detective-themed mini-games to unravel complex crimes. Specifically, you must decode evidence, follow leads, and interrogate suspects. Meanwhile, you will cross paths with a massive gallery of iconic villains. These include the Joker, Scarecrow, Babyface, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, Dollmaker, Lynx, and Music Meister.
Additionally, fans of the animated series will instantly recognize the voice talent. Hamish Linklater returns to voice Batman. Similarly, Michelle C. Bonilla reprises her role as Detective Montoya, strongly bridging the gap between the show and the game.
The Batman Co-Op Detective Game is Free for Amazon Prime Members
Amazon is taking a unique approach to this release. Batman: Caped Crusader – Chronicles will not be sold separately. Instead, Amazon Prime members will get the game at no additional cost through Luna Standard’s GameNight library.
Players can dive in using a conventional controller or simply a smartphone. The Luna app supports a wide variety of hardware. Therefore, you can play on Fire TV devices, Fire tablets, Samsung and LG smart TVs, PC, Mac, Chromebooks, Android, and iOS devices. The game will initially launch in 14 regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands.
Finally, Amazon is actively expanding its gaming ecosystem. The company just announced that Prime Video is officially becoming a Luna launcher on Fire TV in the U.S. and the UK. A brand-new “Games” tab will let Prime members launch supported Luna titles directly from the exact same app they use to watch shows and sports.
