THQ Nordic just dropped massive news during its August 2026 Digital Showcase. The major publisher confirmed it currently has 29 games in development. Furthermore, 12 of these titles remain completely unannounced. With 16 active subsidiary studios, the company is clearly ramping up its production pipeline. However, THQ Nordic did not provide any specific timeframe for when it will reveal these mystery games.
Surprise THQ Nordic Drops & Early Access Releases
Meanwhile, the showcase delivered some exciting immediate releases. Fans got a surprise drop with Expeditions: Samurai, which officially launched in Early Access. Additionally, the popular horror title ‘Reanimal’ received its first major DLC, titled “The Prisoner”.
This surprise expansion adds two new playable characters, namely the Soldier and the Prisoner. Moreover, it introduces a new story chapter, fresh locations, and challenging new bosses like the Flamethrower Soldier and The Mother. THQ Nordic also confirmed that ‘Reanimal’ will receive its second DLC in late 2026, followed closely by a third DLC in early 2027.
Confirmed Release Timelines & Switch 2 Ports
Looking ahead, THQ Nordic mapped out a packed schedule for the coming months. First, September 2026 will bring the release of ‘Gothic 2 Complete Classic’, alongside Android and iOS versions of ‘Epic Mickey’. Next, ‘Epic Mickey: Rebrushed’, developed in collaboration with Purple Lamp, will hit the Nintendo Switch 2 in October 2026. After that, ‘Gothic 3 Classic’ officially launches in November 2026.
Later this year, Switch 2 owners will also receive ‘Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed’, ‘SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide’, and ‘Sacred 2 Remaster’. Consequently, these releases build on the company’s recent success of porting the first ‘Destroy All Humans’ remake to the Switch 2 console.

Beyond the immediate release calendar, THQ Nordic continues to work on several highly anticipated projects. Known for its work on classic remasters like ‘Alone in the Dark’ and the ‘Gothic’ franchise, the publisher is actively developing a full ‘Gothic 1 Remake’.
Similarly, the company confirmed active development for major sequels, including ‘Darksiders 4’ and ‘Titan Quest 2’. Other notable titles currently in production include:
