Oppo has added two new smartphones to its K15 series in China. The new models are called the K15s and K15x. However, neither phone brings entirely new hardware to the lineup. The K15s is essentially a rebadged Oppo A7 Pro with the same design and core specifications.
The K15x is also based on an existing Oppo model. It closely matches the Oppo K14, but comes with a slightly smaller 6,500 mAh battery. The Oppo K15s features a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. The panel also supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations.
The phone uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 6360 Max chipset. It comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. For photography, the K15s has a 50MP main camera on the rear. An 8MP camera is placed on the front for selfies and video calls.
The K15x takes a different approach with a larger display. It has a 6.75-inch IPS LCD panel with HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chipset. It is offered with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The camera setup is more basic on the K15x. It includes a 13MP main camera on the back and a 5MP front-facing camera. Both smartphones run Oppo’s ColorOS 16 out of the box. The K15s is available in purple and grey color options.
The Oppo K15s starts at CNY 1,999, which is around $266. Meanwhile, the K15x starts at CNY 1,699, or approximately $226. The K15x comes in white and purple finishes. With these two models, Oppo has expanded the K15 series while reusing hardware from its existing phones.
