LG Electronics recently announced the UltraGear 25G590B. It is the world’s first Full HD gaming monitor with a native 1000 Hz refresh rate. The company designed this 24.5-inch display specifically for competitive esports and first-person shooter (FPS) games. It aims to deliver ultra-fast visual response and motion clarity for high-speed gameplay.
Native 1000 Hz Performance
Unlike dual-mode monitors, the 25G590B delivers its peak 1000 Hz refresh rate at 1920 x 1080 resolution by default. Gamers do not need to lower their screen resolution or adjust settings to achieve maximum performance.
Furthermore, LG integrated Motion Blur Reduction Pro technology. This feature sharpens fast-moving objects, allowing players to track rapid lateral movements and identify targets easily. The monitor uses an advanced IPS panel equipped with a low-reflection film. These elements work together to reduce glare and maintain consistent color reproduction.
Esports-Optimized Design by LG
LG chose a 24.5-inch screen size because it is the standard for competitive esports. This size keeps all critical visual elements within a player’s natural field of view. Consequently, it minimizes the need for excessive eye movement.
The monitor features a minimalist stand with a small base footprint. This design maximizes desk space and grants players an unhindered range of mouse motion. Additionally, the stand includes physical calibration indicators for height, swivel, and tilt. These indicators help players replicate their exact setup across different practice and tournament locations. The monitor also features customizable ambient lighting through the UltraGear Emblem.
AI Features & Availability
The 25G590B incorporates on-device AI tools to boost usability. AI Scene Optimization automatically adjusts picture settings based on the specific game genre. Meanwhile, AI Sound enhances spatial audio authenticity and clarifies voice communications when paired with compatible headsets.
According to Lee Choong-hwoan, head of the Display Business at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, this monitor establishes a new performance benchmark for competitive gaming. LG expects to launch the UltraGear 25G590B in select markets during the second half of 2026. The company will expand availability to additional regions later in the year.
