The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan has launched the second series of Pakistan Higher Education Expos in Bangladesh to promote academic opportunities for Bangladeshi students under the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor initiative.
The first exhibition of the series was held in Dhaka, where 20 leading Pakistani universities showcased their academic programs, scholarships, and research opportunities. The expos will also be organized in Barishal, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Chittagong, and Rangpur over the next 10 days.
The initiative aims to strengthen educational cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh through academic exchanges, research collaboration, and institutional partnerships.
Bangladesh’s Minister for Education, Dr. A. N. M. Ehsanul Hoque Milon, inaugurated the expo in Dhaka. Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider, HEC Director General Scholarships Aayesha Ikram, and other officials also attended the ceremony.
Addressing the event, Dr. Milon appreciated HEC Pakistan and the Pakistan High Commission for promoting the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor and expanding educational ties between the two countries.
He encouraged Bangladeshi students to apply for the fully funded Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships, calling them a valuable opportunity for talented students seeking higher education abroad.
Imran Haider highlighted Pakistan’s progress in higher education, especially in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Sciences, and Aviation. He said the expo series would help promote joint academic programs, research partnerships, and scholarship opportunities between institutions in both countries.
Speaking at the event, Aayesha Ikram shared details about the scholarship program and academic opportunities available at Pakistani universities. She reaffirmed HEC’s commitment to enhancing educational collaboration through scholarships and institutional exchanges.
Under the initiative, the Government of Pakistan is offering 500 fully funded Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships to Bangladeshi students for higher studies at Pakistani universities.
The first batch of 74 Bangladeshi students has already started studies in Pakistan in disciplines including Engineering, Medical Sciences, Computer Science, Cyber Security, and Biological Sciences.
The initiative also includes training opportunities for Bangladeshi civil servants as part of broader bilateral cooperation efforts.
