Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event is just around the corner, and a new supply chain report has revealed the company’s production plans for its upcoming foldable phones. According to the latest information, Samsung expects the standard Galaxy Z Fold8 to lead its foldable lineup in production, with a much higher target than both the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Flip8.
The report, which cites industry sources, says Samsung has asked its suppliers to manufacture around 2.8 million units of the Galaxy Z Fold8. In comparison, the company reportedly plans to produce around 2 million units of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. The Galaxy Z Flip8 is expected to have the lowest production volume at around 1.5 million units.
These figures suggest Samsung has strong confidence in the Galaxy Z Fold8. The company appears to expect higher demand for the standard foldable than its other upcoming models. While Samsung has not confirmed these numbers, the production targets offer an early look at its market expectations.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 is also rumored to feature a wider display design than previous models. Reports claim it will use a 4:3 aspect ratio, giving users a larger screen for multitasking, gaming, and media consumption. The device is expected to compete with Apple’s rumored iPhone Ultra, which could launch in September.
In addition, the Galaxy Z Fold8 is widely expected to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset. This processor should deliver improved performance and better power efficiency compared to earlier generations.
Several hardware details have also surfaced through recent rumors. The foldable is expected to feature a 7.6-inch inner display alongside a 5.5-inch cover screen. It may also pack a 4,800mAh battery and include a dual rear camera setup.
Samsung will officially unveil its next generation of foldable smartphones during its Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22. Until then, these production figures and hardware details remain based on supply chain reports and industry rumors.
