Grand Theft Auto fans are desperate for news. Rockstar Games set the GTA VI release date for November 19. That leaves just six months until launch. However, official information remains extremely scarce. Consequently, some eager European retailers have jumped the gun. They are now offering unofficial GTA VI pre-orders to the public.
Unofficial GTA VI Pre-Orders Surface in Europe
Recently, a Reddit user made an interesting discovery on the r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit. They spotted GTA VI pre-orders live at two different European retailers. First, store photos surfaced from an Elgiganten location in Denmark. Then, an Italian retailer named Showgame also listed the game online.
The online Showgame listing even allows customers to reach the checkout page. However, Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have not sanctioned these pre-orders. Instead, these regional chains and independent stores are simply preparing early. Still, these unauthorized listings serve as an encouraging sign that the launch is rapidly approaching.
Debunked Rumors & The Official Timeline
Before these European listings appeared, false rumors heavily misled the community. Many fans recently convinced themselves that GTA VI would feature on the next Game Informer cover. Ultimately, the magazine featured The Blood of the Dawnwalker instead.
Furthermore, speculators predicted that official pre-orders and Trailer 3 would drop this past Monday, May 18. Monday arrived, but Rockstar released absolutely nothing. Despite these disappointments, Take-Two insists that developers will not delay the project. Therefore, players can safely circle November 19 on their calendars.
What Rockstar Still Needs to Reveal
Currently, players lack crucial details about the game. Rockstar has not announced a final price point. Consequently, official worldwide pre-orders remain locked.
Moreover, fans have not seen any proper gameplay. The first two trailers focused exclusively on cinematics. Additionally, developers have revealed almost nothing about the single-player story or the inevitable GTA VI online mode. Fortunately, the information drought will end soon. Marketing will officially ramp up this summer, which begins on June 21. Until then, fans must wait for Rockstar to confirm a price and finally release Trailer 3.
