Today is August 27, and the highly anticipated “GTA 6: An Extended Look” hits Netflix tomorrow at 12 AM PKT. Ahead of this worldwide debut, Rockstar Games officially confirmed several new GTA 6 gameplay features.
Interestingly, Rockstar is shifting its marketing strategy. The studio revealed these details in a cover interview with Dazed magazine rather than a traditional gaming outlet. Consequently, the Netflix trailer and the Dazed interview prove that Rockstar is targeting a broader audience over standard gamers. The game remains set for a November 2026 release.
GTA 6 Features: Dynamic Physicality & Character Switching
Players will take control of co-protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos. Furthermore, the game introduces dynamic physical activities that directly impact these characters. Eating alters their weight. Meanwhile, working out changes their physical build and strength. Additionally, skipping sleep negatively affects their tiredness and other core features.
Among these features, Rockstar Games is also bringing the character switching mechanic from GTA 5 to GTA 6. Therefore, players can control the couple together or split them up to play independently.
Rockstar Introduces Deep Relationship System & Social Media Feed
The core relationship between Jason and Lucia drives the heart of the game. As a result, this dynamic replaces the Honor System from Red Dead Redemption 2. The repercussions of their relationship go much deeper than previous systems. Additionally, Rockstar officially confirmed the presence of an in-game social media feed.
Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson explained this gameplay evolution. The development team looked back at previous games with a critical eye. Ultimately, they implemented concepts they previously lacked the time, technology, or resources to finalize.
Unfortunately, unauthorized leaks continue to plague the game’s development. Take-Two Interactive has failed to contain these breaches. So far, the company has yet to identify the individuals or groups responsible. Consequently, these leaks are expected to escalate in the coming months. Therefore, the internet will remain a dangerous place for fans hoping to avoid spoilers before the November 2026 launch.
