Fawad Chaudhry, the former Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting under PTI’s government, will now serve as Minister for Science and Technology.
This change in Sci-Tech ministry is part of the major cabinet reshuffle that took place yesterday, where Asad Umar has also resigned from the position of Finance Ministry.
It must be noted that there are two federal ministries with quite similar names in the country; one is IT and Telecom and the other is Science and Technology. Khalid Maqbool is the Minister of IT and Telecom, whereas the Ministry of Science and Technology has been operating so far without a minister since December last year.
When the news of the appointment of Fawad Ch broke out, people took to Twitter and other social networks in Pakistan to share their viewpoints on the news.
Some people are of the view that most of the cabinet changes made by Prime Minister Imran Khan resulted in the appointment of ex-PPP leaders.

Now Fawad Ch will finally be able to launch his fuel-efficient helicopter as he’s in charge of the ministry.
